QuiltCon!
QuiltCon was wonderful! This is my third QuiltCon and the location of this one was probably my favorite. It may have been because it was the warmest QuiltCon I’ve been to!
The vendor/show area was all on one floor with vendors on the left and quilts on the right. I loved the layout and there was a food court down below which was super convenient.
I did do a bit of shopping and connecting with friends while I was there, but didn’t get many photos! I did, however, get a photo with one of my favorite designers, Elizabeth Hartman! She’s the one who inspired me to start quilting again, so it was amazing to get to meet her. I should do a separate blog post with all of the quilts I’ve made from her patterns!
Here are a few of my favorite quilts from QuiltCon this year:
Poppy Quilt by Audrey Esarey @cottonandbourbon
Oasis by Cassandra Beaver @Cassandra.beaver
Trellis by Andrea Tsang Jackson @3rdstoryworkshop, quilted by Sheri Lund @violetquilts
Bougainvillea by Melissa de Leon Mason @quiltallthethings_
Lifelines by Emilie Trahan @mili.tra
100 Days of Apple Cores also by Cassandra Beaver
A Shrimp Walks Into a Bar by The Portland Modern Quilt Guild @portlandmqg
Sakura by Marcia Peterson @youarelovedquilts, quilted by Melissa Kelley @sewshabbyquilting
We took a lunch break between shopping and quilt viewing to grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant called Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers. It overlooks the Diamondbacks baseball field and was a unique and delicious stop! Dessert was this amazing skillet cookie!
This trip was a wonderful experience and one I feel so fortunate to have had! I definitely hope to visit Arizona again!
